Remembering Shakespeare

I know, I know……boring!…so what?.. he inspires me!……400 years ago today, April 23, 1616, poet and playwright, William Shakespeare died in his home in Stratford-upon-Avon. He was just 52……wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets! 154 sonnets! Dang!..So I wanted to share two of my favorite quotes from all his works. The first is from Julius Caesar:

Brutus:
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

Julius Caesar Act 4, scene 3, 218–224

The second is from Macbeth:

Macbeth:
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.

Macbeth (Act 5, Scene 5, lines 24-28)
