A Persian poet named Saadi Shirazi wrote a book titled “Gulistan” or “The Rose Garden” in 1258. From the chapter titled “On the Excellence of Contentment” come these lines from “Story 19”:
“I never lamented about the vicissitudes of time or complained of the turns of fortune except on the occasion when I was barefooted and unable to procure slippers. But when I entered the great mosque of Kufah with a sore heart and beheld a man without feet I offered thanks to the bounty of God, consoled myself for my want of shoes…”

Times like these, it is so hard to keep the faith…even believe in what is supposed to be the truth. It is much easier to be cynical… From the “Freestyle Series” comes #15:

From “The Freestyle Series”, this piece was inspired by the chance meeting of a much younger colleague who I had not seen in a while. This happened a few days ago. I was struck by how much his once young features had been replaced by the marks of age.
It was as if “I Saw Time”.

Without any preparation or notes, I sat in front of the camera and put this together. Freestyle.
